16-04-2012 : Wonderful news from Belgium
From Belgium I got great news. Caelens daughter 'Lovely Dream of Cheerful Tails' did extremely well by getting CAC CACIB and BOB on the Brabo show Antwerp in Belgium. The show before, in Kortrijk, she was also Best bitch and BOB, only there she was too young to get the CAC/CACIB. Carla told me the following about her Donna...... my 'Donnamour', so she is called in Belgium, is the naughtiest, craziest, cutest but over all, the sweetest dog I ever had. Carla, congratulations for you and Donna and a big hug from daddy Caelen...... you made us so proud !

Great news from the Of Magic Trust kennel. Caelen, Comics Cocktail Trick has become father of 9 healty puppies, 5 dogs and 4 bitches. For Rose, Bjorshults Xtra Wildrose, was this her first litter and she did it splendid, well done Rose !! Congratulations to Ria, Erica and Johan..... and ofcourse big hugs from Caelen to Rose. Comics Cocktail Trick NJK 08, Caelen....... I love to see how happy he is But this was not everything ...........
Last week, I got great news from a daughter of Caelen, Prada from Destiny's Child, who went to the show in Colmar, France. Prada, who lives in Switzerland got 1 Exc. in the Open Class and later on she got the Res. C.A.C.S. ! Congratulations to Prada from Destiny's Child and her owner Helen Delpech. You made us so proud.

05-03-2012 : Terrible accident with Comics Look A'Round, Melvin
Wednesday, 22 february, early in the morning I started to train with Melvin. I had my dummybag on and had made everything ready what I wanted to train in the field. So we started and everything went nicely. Melvin came as usuall quick and happy back with the dummy ........ and than a terrible accident happened...... He sat in front of me, gave me the dummy and wanted to jump next to me....... I never, never, heard such a terrible yelling..... I knew right away that it was terrible wrong.......... The muscaton, 
from the dummybag, went behind his eye, clipped open and went through his eye-sochet and closed.......... You can't immagine how hard he was yelling....... Melvin his eye was stuck on the dummybag which I was wearing...... Terrible !!!! I right away lay down with Melvin on the ground and kept the dummybag near to his eye. I couldn't get out of the dummybag because I had to hold Melvin. I knew that if I couldn't hold Melvin or if he started to run, his eye would be lost or his eye-sochet would be completed damaged...... and probably more....... Nobody heard us because we were in the middle of knowwhere, beautiful fields, no people, wonderful to train....... but, not when there is an accident. I tried to calm Melvin but he had a lot of pain, I had to keep the dummybag near to his eye and make sure that he didn't moved his head ...... that is not easy when you are alone and have a dog who is incredibly in pain. After some time I could reach for my mobile and called the vet, but she couldn't hear me because Melvin was so hard crying..... Gladly I have a very good vet and she knew that there happened something very bad. She went to her car and because she understand some words of what I told her, she tried to find me ......... Melvin and I lay down there for 45 minutes, the vet could not find me so I called the farmer who is the owner of the land, and he found me very quick ...... so very, very nice of him. But the vet still couldn't find us so Egbert, the farmer, toke his car and went to look for the vet and gladly after 15 minutes he found her. I realized that she had to help him in the field because there was no time anymore. I was so terribly afraid of loosing him...... I knew that she would do him a lot of pain to help him but there was no other way...... that feels so terribly dishonest because Melvin is such a friendly and sweet dog. As Magda, the vet arrived, she act right away....... and what a vet !!! Egbert had to lay down on Melvin and I hold his head....... and how terrible is it, to hear your dog so hard crying and how strong they are than....... I could not look to what the vet did, I found it so terrible and was so afraid, but after some time she got the muscaton released from his eye and than we had to release Melvin. His adreline was sohigh. And what do you think............ He jumped very high in the sky, stopped than, was thinking and start to run in one right line and knew exactly where the dummy was, the distance was 150 metres !!! Unbelieveble, he still knew after more than a hour, after having so much pain, he still knew !!!!! He did the mark and brought me the dummy exactly how he had to do it, UNBELIEVEBLE ....... the tears were rolling on my face......... he had to finish his work, what an incredibly will to please !!!!! We drove to the vet and she helped him so well. His eye is as far as we know NOT damaged, but we have to be careful and take care of his eye. The day after the accident Melvin woke up with a terrible, terrible thick eye and probably a lot of headache but further Melvin is the old Melvin again !!! How strong he is !!
I wanne thank Magda de Groot and Egbert for everything they did to help Melvin and ofcourse Charlotte for the nice words and sympathy for Melvin. I know how much luck we had and I am so happy that Melvin still has his eye and can see. But also that he is still alive, it could end much worser.
We are now 1 1/2 week later and yesterday Melvin his eye look so nice that we went to the Martinidogshow Groningen. Melvin had a wonderful day, he loves everybody and still wants to hug everyone......
I was waiting and sitting next to a man and suddenly Melvin saw that he had eye-contact with that man ...... and yes....... than Melvin has to hug you...... I appolegized myself for Melvin but gladly the man loved it, he said, this is a flatcoat, he has to be happy and love people. I said, Melvin thinks everybody comes only for him ........... The man gently laught and said the following beautiful sentence : Your dog is right, we are on the show to see dogs, so your Melvin is right, we are here to see HIM !!!!!!!!!!! These words came from a wise judge, thanks !
Melvin showed well and got 3 Exc. The Flatcoats were judged by mr. J. J. v.d. Berg
(P.s : these wise words came not from the judge who judged the flatcoats in Groningen)
